Willys Truck Parts

Willys trucks are a significant symbol of an American era of progression and regrowth. As important as these symbols are, it is no wonder that Willys trucks are among the most popular rebuilt and from-scratch models of choice. There are kits available to help you along your way, or you can purchase the parts individually. Here are a few pointers and some reminders to put on your checklist to ensure you get everything you need to complete your latest project.

Front end

Some of the most common and important parts you need are located in the front end of your pick-up. Remember to find the perfect grill, headlights and hood. These are integral to preserving (or restoring) the famous and classic look of a Willys truck.

Inside

Purchase either an authentic or fabricated fiberglass dash. These are fairly inexpensive, normally in the $200 range. Remember to purchase the proper wiring components; if you improperly install your radio, wipers or other electronic device you could damage your entire electrical system.

Safety

If you plan on racing your new hot rod, consider purchasing safety features such as roll bars. The original Willys models did not have seat belts, and most states allow you to restore a truck to its original state, sans seat belts. However, the safest bet is to install your own seat belts; there are some fashionable and inexpensive models available that can accent the interior.

How ever you plan on using your rebuilt or from-scratch Willys vehicle, remember to have everything in place before you begin. There are many available resources and tools to help you, and they provide additional tips, so look around and ensure you get the job done right the first time.
